Welcome to the World Isabel Clare

"How long do you wanna be loved?
Is forever enough?Is forever enough?
Because I'm never, ever giving you up."
~The Dixie Chicks, Lullaby

On December 13th, Rolf's sister Evie and her husband Sebastien welcomed Isabel Clare Brun into their family. Over the Christmas holiday, I had the opportunity to spend some precious moments with the new family of three. As you can tell from the photos Evie and Sebastien are both very much in love with each other and very in love with their sweet little girl.

Choo-choo Liam turns 2!

The weekend following Liam's birthday we had a very small party to celebrate. Mimi and Aunt Laura were in town and our friends the Daily's came over for pizza, cake, and presents! Liam absolutely loved all of the attention and quickly caught on to the Happy Birthday song. His version goes "Happy Birthday to me, happy birthday to me, happy birthday to me Liam, happy birthday to me." He especially loves to belt it from his carseat when we are driving down the road at the most random times. I love it!

A special cake for a special boy! A very special thanks to my mom and sister for helping to make the cake. I could not have done it without you guys.

A Special Day Just the 3 of Us

With Liam's birthday party delayed until the next weekend so that Mimi and Aunt Rara could join in on the fun we decided to spend a special day celebrating just the three of us on Liam's actual birth date. With much anticipation,  Liam awoke on his birthday morning eager to open the present that had been gathering on the mantle. We decided to spread out the present opening throughout the day and let him pick out one to open before breakfast. He decided on a very special gift from his favorite ladies in Texas and went to ripping!

As you can tell from the picture he was very excited about his new car and very quickly figured out just how to take it apart and put it back together! What a great new toy! Thanks Aunt Rebecca, Uncle T-bone, Riley, & Reagan!

A much enjoyed Saturday morning tradition at our house is Saturday pancake breakfast. Well Liam didn't want to stray from tradition even with coaxing from mommy to go to the donut store. So we decided that a special monkey shaped pancake was in order for our little "monkey man"! Following breakfast we ventured into downtown Bethesda to check out story time at a local bookstore and explore a new park!

Liam climbed so high he was even making Daddy a little nervous!

Following a good long afternoon nap we did a little yard work at Liam's request, of course! This little man loves to help his Daddy rake leaves and fill up his bucket to be dumped into the yard waste bag. He is quite the little work horse and seriously loves, loves, loves to rake the leaves! He has such a servants heart and truly enjoys helping others especially his mommy and daddy!

All that work sure does make a boy hungry so we headed over to the mall for dinner also at Liam's request. What we learned upon our arrival at the mall, following our attempt at going to CPK for dinner is that "dinner at the mall" actually means Mac & Cheese from Noodles & Co.

Here is Liam enjoying his birthday cupcake from Georgetown Cupcakes. This little guys sure does know a good thing and is definitely a fan of GC!!

After dinner we headed over to Build a Bear for a little more birthday fun! Liam was super excited to make a new friend.

Heading home with his new Build a Bear "dog" named Buddy!

What a great day...Nighty-night!

We had such an awesome day celebrating our sweet little miracle and truly would not have wanted it any other way. I know the time will come when spending a day with mom and dad is the least fun and cool thing possible to do on your birthday so I am going to enjoy every moment while it last and would not have traded this day for anything in the world.

May the Moments Pass Slow

I hope the days come easy and the moments pass slow
And each road leads you where you want to go
And if you're faced with the choice and you have to choose
I hope you choose the one that means the most to you
My wish for you
Is that this life becomes all that you want it to
Your dreams stay big, your worries stay small
You never need to carry more than you can hold
~ Rascal Flatts

This past year has flown by and I can not believe that Liam is now two years old. Here is a quick snapshot of the last year with a few of my favorites and a few new pictures.

My sweet Liam,
With you each day is full of joy and excitement, fear and anticipation. You are the light of our lives and we love you so very much. We are so blessed that God chose us to be your parents and are so thankful for each and every moment we spend with you. We know that God has great plans for you and we can not wait to watch you as you grow into the boy and the man that he means for you to be. We know that the days won't always be easy, the moments won't always pass slow, and each road won't always lead you where you want to go but we pray that in these moments you know that you are loved by a great God and have two parents that love you beyond belief.

All of love,

Mommy & Daddy
